How to Make Hummus with Pistachios?
- We set aside a spoon of chickpeas, hot red pepper powder and pistachios.
- We take the remaining chickpeas out of the can, wash them well and preferably remove their thin membranes so that they do not cause gas.
- Add all the ingredients, including the spices, to the chickpeas except the olive oil and blend them all in a food processor.
- While blending, slowly add the olive oil (this is important).
- Then, we put the hummus on a plate, create a small well on it and put the ingredients we set aside in it.
- We heat some hot red pepper powder in olive oil and pour it over the ingredients in the hole.
Our hummus with pistachios is ready to serve with all its elegance and flavor.
Tips for Hummus with Pistachios
- You can reduce the bitterness of the garlic you will add and get a milder taste by crushing it in lemon juice.
- If you soak the chickpeas in carbonated water overnight, they will become puree more easily in the food processor.
- In order for the skins of the chickpeas to be easily removed, the chickpeas must be boiled until they become very soft.
- If your chickpeas won't fit in your food processor, you can get a more homogeneous mixture by adding each ingredient halfway and then doing the same with the remaining ingredients.
- Chef Anthony Burdain, in his hummus recipes, would separate 2 tablespoons of the chickpea water and add it with ice while blending it in a food processor. You might want to try it.
